The Courier | a short story by Huei Lin

Somewhere in the city, a postal worker shows up in the middle of the night to deliver a mysterious package; a troubled youth is shaken from an erotic dream. The scene lasts only five minutes— just long enough for an interdimensional traveller to disrupt a dying romance with an intriguing proposition. When the flame of desire flickers unsteadily, the moon becomes a trusted guide and confidant. Doppelgängers pop in and out of existence, showing up outside a lonely apartment building before dawn. In the presence of this strange mail courier, ordinary doorways become something more. The intended recipient of this special delivery will have to make a choice: go back to a sleeping lover, or take a chance on uncertain new dreams.
